Most Christians misinterpret things Jesus "said" in order to conform them to their own worldview- especially that "render unto Caesar" bit.
Pretending for a moment that the Jesus of the bible really existed (quite a stretch), he was libertarian in most of what he advocated, not "conservative".
i would say he was more hippie than anything. i'd like to smoke a doob with j.c., then convince him down off the ledge of being the son of god. that'd be my angle. save the future from a bunch of misleading heartache.
