i've been a lot of places.
and none of 'em had a god.
and i got let down a whole fucking lot.

Back when I believed, god NEVER FAILED to let me down every single time I relied on him. And then his fan club would tell me it wasn't god's fault, but mine. For not "having enough faith" or somesuch BS.
ReplyDeleteSo, if my daughter were dying of thirst and asked me for water, and I said "not just yet... wait a while", and she died while waiting, I would be a kind parent? This is what the god club kept trying to make me believe about the god they celebrated.
It was a critical part of my journey to the realization that those who believe in god are just superstitious and desperate to believe in someone "bigger" than their species.
