bobby mcferrin is one of those artists who could hold my attention forever. i've scoured the youtubes and internetz for all the bobby vids i can find and i'm still not satisfied. the man is just so talented and he has never been afraid of doing something new.

this video cracks me up. i mean, it's just extreme to the extreme, for the sake of being extreme and nothing else.

the song is badass, but to name it "best drum and bass song EVER" is a bit much. or maybe it's the constant image of buildings being blown up that makes it unique. either way, it makes me think back to a time when watching 8MM or head banger's ball late at night would give me that edgy yet slightly frightened spike in awareness.

i dunno.

whether you like this song or not, you gotta admit the video is pretty badass. it reminds me of my first matrix experience, which, at the time reminded me of my first recreational drug experience which reminded me of my first sexual experience.

Free running, parkour badassery

for me, one of the great perks of life is discovering cool shit i never knew existed.

the other night i was interweb surfin' and i stumbled across something called free running, which is a variation of something called parkour -- both concepts that my mind had never even thought or heard of.

Why the original conan the barbarian kicks all ass

still angry that the powerstrokers in hollyweird remade yet another one of my favorite movies that should NEVER have been touched, i decided to watch conan the barbarian (starring arnold schwarzenegger and james earl jones) for like... i dunno... the umpteen hundredth time???

i'm sorry, but as far as cinema goes, it's hard for me to find another scene more earth shatteringly badass yet painfully depressing than that of young conan witnessing his mother's death.

my words will never do it justice. so... just enjoy it.
